The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show took place on October 18, 2026, featuring several interesting hosiery styles. Here are the key designs, viewed from a hosiery product-development perspective.
1. Sheer Hosiery Socks
These sheer socks bring together several current trends: a toeless design reminiscent of Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2025 styling, ribbed patterns, metallic Lurex yarn and ruffled cuffs.
Although produced on a conventional 400-needle circular hosiery machine, they are far from basic sheer socks. The combination of these details gives a familiar product a more fashion-forward look.
2. Leg Warmers
The collection also features green leg warmers, extending the styling beyond conventional socks.
Unlike sheer hosiery, these are typically knitted on cotton sock machines using thicker yarns and constructions, making them more suitable for providing warmth and adding volume to an outfit.
3. Cut-and-Sew Sheer Dots Socks
Sheer socks with dot patterns made from cut-and-sew fabric are another interesting choice.
As discussed in our previous article, this technique allows designers to use fabric patterns that may be difficult to reproduce on conventional circular hosiery machines. The trade-off is visible seams, which can be clearly seen in the runway images.
4. Screen-Printed Sheer Thigh-High Stockings
Some of the thigh-high stockings feature heart motifs and Victoria’s Secret branding, decorated with a metallic silver effect.
These appear to use screen printing, potentially with metallic or glitter-effect ink. This technique allows logos and decorative graphics to be applied to sheer hosiery without having to knit the design into the fabric.
Screen printing offers considerable freedom in graphic design, making it suitable for adding distinctive branding and decorative elements to otherwise simple sheer stockings.
5. Front-Seam Thigh-High Stockings
Most traditional seamed stockings use a back seam, a classic design feature that has become closely associated with vintage hosiery styling.
This show also features thigh-high stockings with a front seam, combined with suspender-inspired styling. Moving the seam to the front creates a different visual effect and makes the seam itself part of the design.
It is a direction worth watching as brands continue to explore new ways of styling traditional hosiery.
